The Virtual Cave. Created May 2025.
Explore this prototype virtual cave online, as part of TAAHM, a special project between English Riviera (UK) and Satun (Thailand) UNESCO Global Geoparks. Artists and environmentalists invite you to explore their evolving world, share your ideas, add images and objects to the virtual cave if you like.
Join the artists in their process investigating our feelings about caves as places of hope and connection but also darkness and fear. Explore our deep genetic memory embedded in cave mythologies as places of transformation, and an encounter with a modern day cyclops in the form of technology.
The Virtual Cave space uses gaming technology as a co-creative environment. The images used to create the cave were captured during an artist exchange visit to Satun UNESCO Global Geopark and its spectacular caves in Thailand. You are invited to explore and co-create this unusual gallery space. What will you discover? What ideas or objects will you bring?
Exploring new technologies, the virtual cave will remain open to explore at your leisure. Suitable for all ages, assuming some knowledge of foundation digital skills.
Parental guidance: please note this is an unsupervised online space.
You can choose to be anonymous or create an account. To move use the arrow key (also to turn direction), use the SHIFT key to run, and to jump use the space bar. We hope you enjoy visiting TAAHM online cave!
